We have a winner! It was tough but we finally got there… after viewing over 200 photos with captions and stories sent in by our visitors, we finally made a decision as to who would be receiving the fabulous cameras kindly donated by our friends at Nikon. Congratulations to Bridie Watson who wins 1st prize and receives a Nikon D40 Camera. Gillian Lloyd and Ashley Chaplin win runners up prizes of COOLPIX S200.

The winner

Scarborough

...I am retired and live in a city but my brother lives in Scarborough. I visit the coast regularly and took this photo on my last visit. The chalets in Scarborough's North Bay have just been refurbished and the simplicity of the old man looking out to sea sums up the feeling of relaxation I get from walking by the sea.

Runners-up

Eastham Woods

...My special place is Eastham Woods in Eastham on the Wirral. I grew up in Eastham... when I was a little girl always went to the woods... it doesn't matter what time of year it is the place is always lovely, it's one place where I always end up smiling at something. In my photo, I have taken my nephew to the woods, he is sitting at a place called Jobs Ferry where the old ferry boats pick up passengers.

Embley Wood

A fairly anonymous predominantly beech woodland transformed by bluebells every spring. The dense lushness of the bluebells, coupled with the gorgeous lime green of the early beech leaves makes it a magical place to be.
